Hazel Adlam

I am a professional artist in Leaden Roding, Essex and have been painting on commission for over 30 years, regularly selling work in craft centres, galleries, retail outlets and fairs and have held a number of solo exhibitions raising money for charity.

Although I paint any subject and on anything! I especially enjoy vehicle & aviation art, landscapes, nature & wildlife, pet & people portraits, working in pastels, acrylic, oils and watercolour, More details can be found on my website: www.artshed.co.uk

I thoroughly enjoy being a member of Leaden Roding Art Group and the Bishop’s Stortford Art Society where we meet to share, inspire and chat and it was with the BSAS I was delighted to have been awarded the Cooper Landscape Cup 2018 and the Society’s Portrait Cup 2019.

My love of art has been with me for as long as I can remember, and after graduating from Kent University in 1987 with Honours in Art and Geography I trained and worked as a Primary School Teacher where in the role of Art Coordinator I organised art, craft and drawing clubs and art events for the children, having also taught Art to GCSE I was privileged to sit on the NE Kent Examination Board for GCSE Art & Design. I have been lucky enough to have had a varied career outside of teaching but always painting and crafting creating company logos and literature, book illustrations and designed school and business websites.

Besides my passion for art I have enjoyed many other interests from competitive athletics for 20 years to choral singing for even longer! but amongst my many art and craft hobbies I enjoy silk painting, greetings card design, driftwood art, sewing, photography and photo restoration. I am always busy but enjoy every minute!
