In light of the current health issues surrounding the Corona Virus outbreak, the BSAS Committee have decided to cancel all upcoming meetings and events, until such time as it is safe for our members.
The AGM is provisionally postponed until September, unless otherwise advised. The next exhibition in May has also been cancelled.

Keep safe everyone.

Bishop’s Stortford Art Society has members with a range of talent, working in watercolour, oils, acrylic, pastel etc, with a variety of subjects. Beginners are welcome.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday evening of the month during the Autumn and Spring terms at Thorn Grove Primary School,
Thorn Grove
Bishop’s Stortford
Herts. CM23 5LD

The hall is open from 7.00 pm, with the meeting itself starting at 7.30 pm, and finishing at 9.45 pm.

There is a varied programme including working evenings, talks and demonstrations by practising artists. The demonstrators tell us about their painting methods as they work on their picture such as a portrait, landscape or still life. Working evenings allow us to sketch or paint a model or a still life subject.

During the summer months a series of outdoor sketching or painting afternoons are arranged in the surrounding area.

There is at least one public Exhibition a year, where pictures are for sale. This gives us an opportunity to show and sell our work.

If you are interested in painting or sketching, do come along to one of our meetings.

Entrance charges are £3 for members, and £5 for visitors – which helps to cover the cost of room hire, demonstrators and models.

Annual Membership – Single £20, Couples residing at same address £35, Student £10
