David Cooper

Born in Iron Monger Row, Finsbury, East London  in 1936, I am a self taught artist and have attended  workshops at Flatford and Dedham. Also residential courses with professional artists Mo Teeuw, Brian Ryder, John Shave and Keith Morton. Plus workshops with Ian McMannus.

I have had a painting ‘Tower Bridge at Night’ published in the SAA’s Paint Magazine, and exhibited at various selected exhibitions, successfully selling paintings. I have also had my own solo exhibitions.

I like boaty paintings including lovely wet mud full of colour and life. This of course leads me to my love of seascapes,  but I also like landscapes and street scenes.

I have been a member of Bishop’s Stortford Art Society for over 20 years.  During that time I have carried out key roles including Programme secretary , Exhibition and Publicity Officer, and Chairman.   I am currently President of the society.
